Karl's Monaco

Karl Lagerfeld's life takes him around the world and back again every year, but he always comes back to Monaco, where he has a home. The designer shared some of his favorite places in the tiny Mediterranean principality, exclusively with us.

A room with a view:

I used to live in La Vigie, now it's a luxury hotel. Also, L’Hermitage and Hôtel de Paris, which is about to close for two years for renovation.
Villa La Vigie - Tél.+377 98 06 89 01

A weekend escape:

I love the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel just outside the city, beautifully renovated and modernized by India Mahdavi.
Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel, Avenue Princesse Grace 06190 Roquebrune-Cap-Martin -Tel.(33) 493 286 666

A favorite restaurant:

YoshiJoël Robuchon's Japanese restaurant at the Métropole, it's the best in Europe.
Hôtel Métropole, 4 Avenue de la Madone, Monte Carlo - Tel.+377 93 15 13 13

A secret hideaway:
My huge apartment at the top of Millefiori, with a 360° view.

Only in Moncao:
Complete security with no compromises. Monte Carlo is like a big city but without the drawbacks.

A gallery:

The Picasso exhibition in the Nahmad collection at the Grimaldi Forum, or Villa Paloma.
Grimaldi Forum, 10 Avenue Princesse Grace  98000 Monaco - Tel.+377 99 99 20 00 & La Villa Paloma, 17

A nightspot with a difference:

The Odyssey pool at the Métropole, day and night.
